Our environmental policies
We are determined to act responsibly and ecologically. The protection of our treasured environment is an integral feature of our corporate governance. We therefore aim to avoid needless environmental pollution and adhere to statutory requirements and legal provisions. Our environmental performance is carefully monitored and continually improved.

We employ sustainable resources
“To strive for a responsible interaction with our god given nature and surrounding is our way to show respect for and to appreciate a magnificent creation.” This paragraph to be read in our mission statement motivated the management of the Röthlisberger AG to apply for FSC and PEFC certification which was successfully achieved. Our range of FSC- and PEFC-certified products has been growing ever since. Kitchens and cupboards leaving our production meet the FSC standards at no additional costs for our clients.

FSC & PEFC guidelines and chain of custody certification
FSC and PEFC are internationally renowned and well established labels which assure you that the product you buy has been made with forest materials from responsible sources. The rules of responsible management of forests and supply chains apply worldwide and are subject to constant monitoring and independent controlling. The certificates grant for highly elaborated global standards to ensure you that you are supporting a product that has not been manufactured ath the expense of the forest, or the animals, plants and people who rely on it.

Utilisation of residual timber
Left over wood is resourcefully used to heat our manufacturing halls and the adjacent office building with our own wood-fuelled installation.

Sustainable energy
Since january 1st 2016 our electricity purchase focus on the application of hydropower and thus on 100 per cent renewable energy.

Heat recycling system
The company's own wood-fuelled thermal power station not only provides heat energy for our manufactory but also for the heating of nearby buildings such as the school of Schüpbach, the building of the fire brigade Signau and an adjacent family home. Other additional buildings are waiting to be connected soon.

Integrated heating system
The heating of our veneer presses with a working temperature of 70°C does not rely upon electric energy as usual, but is provided by our integral heating circuit.

Saving light energy
Just to give you an idea of our constant strive for energy saving despite of our rising performance: in 2013 the old illuminants lightning our machine shop were completely replaced by state-of-the-art lamps which led to a reduction of light energy by the marked amount of 30 per cent simultaneously increasing the luminosity by 20 per cent.

Reducing fuel consumption
When expanding our vehicle fleet, we aim for modern economical engines and an optimised, needs-based use of space.

Waste separation
waste and residuals are carefully separated. For professional disposal we decided to cooperate with certified companies (AVAG and VEOLIA) who grant for environmentally friendly waste management and recycling.
